Redefining Digital Transformation:

Perhaps the biggest challenge with digital transformation lies in understanding where the transformation occurs.

Digital transformation doesn’t begin or end by offloading workloads or moving core systems to the cloud. It doesn’t come about through the development a cool customer-facing app. Paralleling its philosophical forerunner, DevOps, the process of digital transformation begins by looking inward. It is a matter of organization.

Voice of Customer:
First and foremost are the attentive customers. We acknowledged this by starting a conversation on our community interaction platform, Customer Core. We’ve contacted them to find out what’s going on in your companies so that we can work together to address these new difficulties. As we’ve searched for methods to change with the times and make sure we’re giving our customers what they need, first and foremost, direct customer interaction has been essential.

Business Decision Making:
A well-organized business case outlines the opportunity or business problem that the project (or programme) is intended to solve, the reasons behind the project’s inception, and the many approaches that could be used.
To the degree that they are known, each alternative solution’s possible costs and benefits are also listed.

Once accepted, the business case serves as the project’s cornerstone since it thoroughly outlines the requirements and the main advantages that the project is intended to achieve. Before the project is funded and chartered, the business case needs to be officially approved by the project sponsor.

Beyond just “delivering projects on time and under budget,” effective project managers must accomplish more. They must also assist in delivering results that will enable the customer to realise the anticipated commercial benefits. The PM can assist by ensuring that the project produces the intended results in the intended manner, but only business managers are able to manage the company to realise the value and advantages. This is often outlined in the business case, and before beginning development work on a project, the business case may need to be developed or refined.
